FAQ
When is Apple Vision Pro coming to the UK?
Available now. The Apple Vision Pro launched in the UK on 12 July 2024, a few months after its US launch and over a year after it was first announced. It's an individual device that requires a custom fit for each user. While the core parts of the Vision Pro remain the same for each user, there are different sized light seals and headbands to prevent light from filtering through when the headset is worn.
The light stickers attach with a magnet and different users in a household can use the Vision Pro by purchasing different light stickers, but it doesn't support different user profiles on the interface, so to change users you'll need to use guest mode or sign out of your Apple ID and sign in to a different one.
When purchasing Vision Pro, you will need to take measurements for the light seal and headband to ensure Vision Pro fits you perfectly. You can go to an Apple Store to get your measurements taken, or you can take your measurements at home using your iPhone or iPad. We also offer ZEISS optical inserts with reader and prescription options depending on your vision.
What is the difference between Google Glass and Apple Vision Pro?
Apple Vision Pro is a virtual reality headset, while Google Glass is a pair of smart glasses similar to Ray-Ban Meta Glasses and Snap's Spectacles. Designed to be worn on the go, smart glasses overlay important information on top of what you see in real life, like notifications and directions, as well as the ability to take photos and videos.
Apple Vision Pro isn't designed to be worn while walking around, but you can take photos and videos using the capture button on top. Virtual reality headsets and devices like Apple Vision Pro are intended to be used within a familiar and safe environment, such as at home, on a plane or on a train, where there are fewer variables that can cause injury when using a virtual environment, rather than walking on the street where there may be many dangers.
Are Apple Vision Pro smart glasses?
No, the Apple Vision Pro is more of a virtual reality headset than smart glasses. It's significantly larger and much more capable than smart glasses, and offers more impressive (and different) technology. Smart glasses usually resemble regular glasses (only a little thicker), and instead of transporting you to an entirely different immersive environment, they allow you to do things like take photos while walking down the street.
Can I walk with Apple Vision Pro?
You can even walk around with the Apple Vision Pro on. Video pass-through allows you to see the real world around you if you lower the Digital Crown all the way to get out of an immersive environment. However, I don't recommend walking around with the Vision Pro on. In my experience, walking around the house with it was not enjoyable. Sitting down to use it provides a much better experience.
What is the battery life of Apple Vision Pro?
The Apple Vision Pro has a battery life of 2 hours with typical use, or 2.5 hours when watching videos and movies. The battery pack is an aluminum pack about the same size as an iPhone 15 Pro Max (but a little thicker) that must be permanently attached to the Vision Pro headset. It charges over USB-C, and the Vision Pro interface shows notifications when the battery is at 20% and again at 10%. You can also charge the battery pack while using the Vision Pro, but you'll need to be mindful of the extra cable.
