The largest luxury car manufacturer in the United Kingdom, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), announced that he would invest 65 million pounds sterling ($ 81 million) in a plan to extend his tailor-made painting services to the growing demand of wealthy customers.
The plan includes the opening of new painting installations in Castle Bromwich, the United Kingdom, and Nitra, Slovakia.
The company, which belongs to the Indian group Tata, says that it also plans to double its tailor -made painting activities, in particular by helping its customers correspond to the color of their exclusive Range Rover SV models to that of their jets or Private yachts.
This follows a similar decision by Rolls-Royce, which announced earlier this month that it would invest 300 million pounds sterling to build more personalized versions of its cars for very rich customers.
“Range Rover customers are choosing more and more to personalize their vehicles with more exclusive and tailor -made pallet paintings,” said Jamal Hameedi, director of special vehicle operations at JLR.
“By increasing our capacity, we can meet the growth in demand for our Range Rover customers and … customers of our other brands.”
The company claims that the plan will also help it reduce its energy and water consumption, as well as painting waste.
Earlier this month, Rolls-Royce announced the expansion of its Goodwood factory and its global head office to meet the growing demand for tailor-made models.
Rolls-Royce said that the plan “would also prepare the manufacturing plant for the brand’s transition to a fully battery-length electric vehicle.”
Last month, Jaguar unveiled a new controversial electric concept car.
Some on social networks said that the new type 00 car was “exciting” and “absolutely breathtaking”, while others qualified it as “disgusting” and told Jaguar designers to “return to the board drawing “.
However, the car manufacturer suggested that the reaction was exactly the one he wanted, because he was trying to reset the brand and relaunch succumbs.
