The person arrested was a 37-year-old male office worker from Dazaifu who was financially well-off. He didn't break into homes because he wanted to make money; crime became his hobby.
In an interview with police, he admitted he had done it over 1,000 times and had no intention of stopping. He didn't take anything with him during the robbery, just trying to see if he could get caught. This was supposed to give him more emotion. – My hobby is breaking into other people's homes, and I've done it over 1,000 times, – he said.
