The incident occurred during the first public event from K-Pop Idol in Seoul last June, which saw him kiss 1,000 fans. Instead of just tightening the star, the woman seemed to have kissed her face, Jin responding by diverting her face.
The Kiss has angry the other fans of BTS, one of whom filed a criminal complaint against it, bringing the police to launch an investigation.
On June 13, 2024, the day after his exit from the army, Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-Jin, organized a fan event where he embraced 1,000 fans and interpreted songs in front of 3,000 others.
During the three -hour “Hugathon” length, fans who won the chance to kiss her put online and went on the first step by one to meet the 33 -year -old star.
But one of them caused a tumult when she seemed to kiss Jin’s face.
Mominous clips have become viral on the Internet. The videos show that Jin, taken aback by the move, tried to turn his head while tightening the woman before going quickly to the next fan. Fans could also be seen angry with their actions.
Later, she wrote on her blog that she kissed her “on her neck” and “the skin was very soft”.
The woman’s identity was not revealed, but the police added that they had identified it with the help of their Japanese counterparts.
The BBC contacted the BTS HYBE agency to comment.
Jin is the first member of the BTS to have been sent back from the military service. He was followed by J-Hope who was released in October. The other four – V, RM, Jimin, Jungkook and Suga – are still in service and the group should not meet until June 2025.
K-POP idols are known to have a close relationship with their fans thanks to various communication channels and events. It is common for artists to communicate with fans through live cats on social networks and events in person to cultivate faithful fans.
But fans and agencies have also been aware of certain toxic fans cultures. For example, many artists have expressed the stress caused by “Sasaeng fans”, who are too obsessed with their idols who would track and harass the artists.
