Universal Pictures has revealed the title and first look at the upcoming 'Jurassic World' movie.
The studio announced Thursday that the Gareth Edwards-directed film will hit theaters on July 2, 2025 and will be titled Jurassic World: Rebirth. The cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is set five years after the events of filmmaker Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World: Dominion. The previous film in the series was released in theaters in June 2022 and starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard alongside Jurassic Park's returning Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill. The film series began in 1993 with Steven Spielberg's blockbuster Jurassic Park, which is based on author Michael Crichton's 1990 sci-fi novel of the same name.
In the new film, only a limited number of dinosaurs remain, living in a special biosphere, with three of them holding the key to a potentially miraculous and life-saving drug. Covert operations expert Zora Bennett (Johansson) attempts to secure genetic material from the dinosaurs, but ends up stranded with a civilian family on an island that holds a secret hidden from humanity for decades.
Edwards will direct “Jurassic World 3D” from a script by David Koepp, who also directed “Jurassic Park” and its 1997 sequel, “The Lost World: Jurassic Park.”
