Amanda Gallagher, 37, died in a tragic accident at the airport in Derby, Kansas. A woman was taking pictures near the plane. After approaching the aircraft, one of the propellers struck the aircraft.
The tragedy occurred at Derby's private Cook Airport, which is used by a local skydiving company. The accident occurred immediately after that at 14:30.

Amanda Gallagher, 37, was taking pictures at the airport. At one point, she approached one of the planes. While reversing, he got too close to the propeller and collided with it, sustaining serious injuries.
After medical personnel arrived at the scene, the woman showed no signs of life. She was taken to hospital in critical condition with serious injuries. A short time later, Cook Airport announced via social media that the woman could not be saved.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young woman who died yesterday in a tragic airplane propeller accident at Cook Airport. We will not speculate on what could have worked differently or what should have gone differently,” airport officials wrote.
GoFundMe has collections to support the family during the funeral. Messages posted there indicated that a 37-year-old woman died while doing what she loved: parachuting and taking photos.

“Amanda Gallagher was warm-hearted, adventurous, creative, and beautiful inside and out. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed. You would think so,” it says.
According to American media, Saturday's tragedy is being investigated as an accident.
