Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gameplay Teaser – Watch on YouTube
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 made an appearance at Gamescom's Opening Night Live showcase today, revealing a short gameplay teaser for the medieval action-RPG sequel. Henry is back, and the world's most down-to-earth protagonist seems to have only one goal: to get into as many ruthless sword fights with 15th-century Bohemians as he can.
Henry is menaced by the crowned Jagoff at the beginning of the trailer, but he quickly escapes and does heroic things, like riding his horse across the sunset-lit Bohemian plains, where everyone speaks with an incomprehensible British accent and every tree has a medieval wretch hanging from its branch. Otherwise you'd never know there was a civil war going on. That's how visual storytelling works.
Henry passes by some taverns, muddy streets, and more idyllic fields. It all looks lovely. And finally, after another brief distraction at the gallows, we get what everyone knows he's come for: it's sword time. Henry has brought enough swords to give to everyone.
The slashing and stabbing fest is brief: Henry readies his crossbow once, but it's just a formality before returning to his favorite pastime of attacking foes with whatever part of his long sword he has at his disposal.
If the teaser still leaves you with an insatiable appetite for swordplay, an extended Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 gameplay showcase will be available tomorrow at 9am CEST, which promises to feature plenty more sword-swinging action.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will now be released on February 11, 2025, a slight delay from its originally planned 2024 release date.
