A cat was rescued from an operating car wash after an employee heard a “meowing” sound.
An orange and white tabby kitten was rescued after getting stuck near the Turbo Blaster section at Ultimate Shine Car Wash in Washington Court House, Ohio.
According to the Fayette Area Humane Society, the kitten, believed to be less than six weeks old, may have been crushed under the car as it went into the car wash.

“As the car drove into the car wash, it is likely that the powerful turbo blaster forced the kitten out of its hiding place and into the path of the high-pressure water jet,” a media statement said.
Car wash team leader Kiera Mills said she realised something was wrong when she heard the kitten meowing during a routine inspection of the car wash tunnel.

Mills then discovered the kitten, “soaking wet and shivering.”
“I took him to the main office and started drying him off as quickly as possible,” she said.

In a media statement, FRHS Chief Animal Welfare Officer Brad Adams said he was grateful the situation was handled the way it was.
“Without the attentiveness of the car wash staff, the outcome may have been very different,” he said.

After a thorough examination, Turbo was found to be free of any injuries and will be available for adoption once he has received all his vaccinations, been microchipped and neutered.
Adams said this should be a good reminder for car owners to check under their vehicles for animals.

He added: “This is just a reminder to people to always check under their cars, especially if they have cats or kittens on the property.”
