The knife attack took place near the central square of the dam in Amsterdam. The incident occurred just before 3:30pm local time.
The service reported that the suspect had been arrested, but the theme of the attack remains unknown.
The Amsterdam police gave the era of nationality and victims of attacks. Among them are two American citizens who were one woman from Belgium, a Polish citizen and one Dutch who mentioned the NLTimes portal.
Officials suspect that the victims were randomly selected.

The injured Americans are a 67-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man. Among the attacks were a Belgian, 19, 73, from Amsterdam, and a 26-year-old man from Poland.
All five have been seriously injured and hospitalized, two of whom are in serious condition.
The perpetrator was also taken to a medical facility. The man suffered a leg injury when one of the witnesses defeated him.
– Police investigations are currently a top priority. We hope that the knife push will brighten up quickly about the background of this horrifying incident. Our hearts are close to the victims, their families and their loved ones – said Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halma.
Officials are encouraging event witnesses to provide photos and recordings that will help them determine the course of the attack.
