Former President Oleksandr Kwasniewski, who was asked on the WP Newsroom program about his assessment of Poland’s current relations with the US in comparison to the relations during his presidency, replied that currently “the situation is more difficult.” – At that time, we did not have a war in Ukraine. Russia was not as dangerous as it is today. The war we were involved in, namely Iraq, was far away and did not directly affect us. We had no refugees, etc. – Kwasniewski listed. – But when it comes to the relations between Poland and America, I think that here we have created a certain level of stability, which guarantees that nothing bad will happen, – he added. Kwasniewski emphasized that we are in contact with almost all American presidents. – Well and with Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden. And I think it’s going to be the same now in Trump’s second term. Americans need Poland. Although we have to stop thinking that we are a very important thing, we are an important partner. It’s even more important now because it’s on the front lines, he added. – The Americans – because they have no reason to have – have any bad intentions towards Poland. Perhaps this act of deportation will become a practical problem at some point, because it turns out that many Poles who work illegally in the United States may be deported, and this, of course, spoils the mood. But despite everything, I am calm when it comes to Polish-American relations, as well as with Donald Trump in his new form, – added Alexander Kwasniewski.
