As the Lake Mary All-Stars continue to compete in the Little League World Series, the town's next generation of baseball players are trying out for the team. These promising sluggers spent Saturday honing their skills and finding their place in Lake Mary Little League. Penelope has been working on her power swing and dreams of being a part of the next Lake Mary All-Stars team. “I want to be there,” she said. “I practice every day.” Braden is also hoping to make the All-Stars roster and said of the team, “They hit it far, they throw a fast ball, they're a good team.” These kids were up early Saturday morning after a long night watching the league's best Lake Mary All-Stars emphatically beat Washington for their second victory in the Little League World Series, 6-1. Their parents and the community were there to cheer on the All-Stars' newest hopefuls. “He was having fun, hitting balls, getting up at 5 a.m. to get dressed and ready to go,” Chris Fleming said. “All the coaches are taking notes, evaluating, going over it and drafting later in the week and preparing for the fall and spring games the same way,” said Adam Lama, one of the Little League coaches. The All-Stars will be the first Central Florida team to play in the Little League World Series in nearly 20 years. The Lake Mary All-Stars' next game is against Vaughn, Texas, on ESPN at 7 p.m. Monday.

The kids were up early Saturday morning after a long night watching the league's best Lake Mary All-Stars emphatically beat Washington, winning Game 2 of the Little League World Series, 6-1.
Parents and community members were also there to support the newest generation of potential All-Stars. “He was having fun, hitting balls, getting up at 5 a.m. to get dressed and ready to go,” Chris Fleming said.
“All the coaches are taking notes, evaluating, going over it and then doing a draft later in the week and preparing for fall and spring league in the same way,” said Adam Lama, one of the Little League coaches.
The All-Stars are the first Central Florida team to play in the Little League World Series in nearly 20 years.
The Lake Mary All-Stars' next game will be against Vaughn, Texas, on Monday at 7pm on ESPN.
