Monday's attack in southern Lebanon left at least 11 people dead and three injured. The Israeli military said it had attacked dozens of Hezbollah targets across the country. The statement said the fighters attacked “Hezbollah fighters, dozens of rocket launchers, and other infrastructure of the group.”

The attack also destroyed the launch pad from which two missiles were launched into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights early Monday. This was Hezbollah's first attack since the ceasefire took effect. Both sides accuse each other of violating the ceasefire agreement.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah has been in effect since Wednesday. Monday's shelling was the first similar operation by Hezbollah since the ceasefire took effect. Shiite groups said the move was a response to repeated ceasefire violations by Israel.
Nabi Berri, speaker of the Lebanese parliament and Hezbollah ally who negotiated the deal on Lebanon's behalf, said there had been 54 violations of the ceasefire by Israel since Wednesday.
