Łódź Municipal Social Welfare Center sent a letter to Mr. Jarosław, in which he informed that he had to pay for the care of his father, who was staying in this institution. The monthly payment is about PLN 2,000 and the loan has already reached PLN 100,000. This man refuses to pay because his father abandoned him when he was a baby and had no contact with him.
In 2019, Mr. Jarosław received a letter from the Social Welfare Center in Łódź about his father. He was informed that his father was alive and living in a welfare home and that he had to pay about PLN 2,000 per month for his maintenance. It was not surprising that the man had not seen his father, who had left him at the age of 10 months.
Currently, the debt is already around 100,000 PLN.
In a conversation with a reporter from Attention! TVN, Maciej Dopierała, Mr. Jarosław admitted that he and his wife tried to explain to the officials that they could not pay for a man who was never interested in the fate of his children.
– My husband told his story. He pleaded that he did not know his father and that his father had abandoned him. That he is a stranger to him. However, none of the officials expressed their opinion on this matter, emphasizes Mrs. Katarzyna, the wife of Mr. Yaroslav.

The father never paid alimony for his son
Mr. Yaroslav was abandoned by his father when he was 10 months old. The immediate reason for the breakup of the family and the two-year marriage of the parents was allegedly the situation when the man put a knife to the child's neck and demanded money for drinking alcohol.
– He never came to Jarek's birthday. Children did not exist for him. I don't even have a picture of Jarek with his dad. He did not pay alimony and did not send me money. Even just one zloty, emphasizes Ms. Wanda, Mr. Jaroslav's mother.
A woman divorced when her husband was imprisoned for common crimes. At the time of divorce, the man should also be deprived of parental rights.

A community interview is required
Piotr Kowalski, director of the Municipal Social Welfare Center in Łódź, said that the situation would have been different if the man had not refused to be interviewed by the public. – There is no need to pay money for his father, he must follow the rules. specific There is no other way to do this, he added.
The manager explained that in order for the debt not to increase, Mr. Yaroslav had to submit another application for exemption from payment and undergo a community interview, which would once again prove that his father had abandoned him as a child.

Someone has to pay to stay in a welfare home
When a person is admitted to a social care home, social workers start looking for people to finance his stay. Often the child of such a person is found and after checking his income and marital status, he proposes to conclude a contract in which the child must pay for the parents from now on month by month. You can sign the contract and pay, but you can also choose not to.
If someone decides not to sign the contract, the social worker issues an administrative decision that the fee has been charged, so the payment obligation remains the same. However, you can appeal this decision. The case is then referred to the Local Government Appeals Tribunal. The next stage is the Regional Administrative Court and the last stage is the Supreme Administrative Court.
The point is that all the mentioned institutions check whether the amount has been calculated correctly, whether the amount has been charged to the relevant person or not, and whether there are no formal errors in the documents. However, it is not checked whether the parent has fulfilled his obligations to the child or not.
