The Dallas Cowboys (1-1) will host the Los Angeles Chargers (0-2) at AT&T Stadium in the final week of preseason action. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 PM ET (NFL Network). Below, we break down FanDuel Sportsbook's line on Chargers vs. Cowboys odds and give our expert NFL picks and predictions.
The Cowboys, who have yet to start QB Dak Prescott in the preseason, lost their preseason opener to the Los Angeles Rams 13-12 on August 11 and beat the Las Vegas Raiders 27-12 on August 17. They are 1-1 against the spread (ATS) and 0-2 O/U. QB Trey Lance has been the star of the season. Against the Raiders, he completed 15 of 23 passes for 151 yards and one touchdown, plus one rush. He will likely play a majority of the game again.
The Chargers have taken a similar approach, having yet to bring in quarterback Justin Herbert for the series after two games. Los Angeles is 0-2 ATS in its two preseason games at home, losing 16-3 to the Seattle Seahawks on Aug. 10 and then 13-9 to the Rams on Aug. 17. The Chargers are 0-2 O/U and have yet to score a touchdown in the preseason.

Chargers vs. Cowboys predictions and forecasts
prediction
Cowboys 20, Chargers 12
Money Line
Passed.
The Cowboys (-195) are the obvious favorites, but there's no reason to take a risk on them for a nearly 2x return, so avoid that bet. The Chargers at +165 aren't even worth considering given their poor preseason performance.
Preventing the spread
Betting on the Cowboys -3.5 (-115).
The Chargers have allowed 12 total points in the preseason and lost both games by four or more points, and while Los Angeles has yet to face Herbert, that's unlikely to change.
The Cowboys have a much more capable backup in Lance and quarterback Cooper Rush, who has NFL starting experience. Dallas scored 39 total points and overcame a seven-point deficit to win 27-12 against the Raiders in Week 2.
Factoring in Dallas' strength behind Prescott and Los Angeles' struggles, I'd put the Cowboys at -3.5 (-115).
Over/Under
Bet under 33.5 (-115).
Both teams are 0-2 O/U through the first few weeks of preseason, with the Cowboys allowing 13 or fewer points in both games and scoring more than 12 points just once.
The Chargers have only scored in single figures in both games and have never allowed more than 16. Their starters have barely played and both teams have been trending under this preseason.
Take UNDER 33.5 (-115).
