Los Angeles has been battling a devastating fire for several days. The death toll from the fires has risen to 24, with drought and strong winds contributing to the surge. Canadians, Mexicans and the president of Ukraine also offered help in the firefighting effort. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy declared that 150 firefighters from his country could come to the United States.
All fire-related deaths are believed to be due to two fires. The Palisades Fire, which has burned more than 9,710 hectares and is only 11 percent contained, and the Eaton Fire, near Pasadena, which has burned nearly 5,670 hectares and is one-quarter contained.
Local television station KTLA reported, citing officials, that 16 people died in the Eaton fire and eight people died in the Palisades fire. Only one of the 24 dead has been identified. The man, 66-year-old Victor Shaw, died while holding a garden hose while trying to protect his home, relatives said.

Los Angeles and massive fire. red flag warning
Local authorities reported a high risk of the fire spreading until at least Wednesday. This element is fueled by drought and wind and can reach speeds of up to about 90 km/h.
Wind gusts can exceed 70 mph (110 km/h) in mountainous areas, especially around Los Angeles. This, along with the expected high temperatures and low humidity of just 10%, triggered the so-called alert. Red flag.
