Baton Rouge (Louisiana) Catholic High School defensive back Jacob Bradford received an offer from Louisiana State University in late July after Brian Kelly and teammates called him.
After extending a scholarship to the four-star defensive back, it's clear the program continues to seek additional talent in the secondary in the 2025 cycle.
Bradford, a coveted safety who received numerous offers from the Power Four, revealed his commitment to the Houston Cougars in early June as Willie Fritz and his staff secured one of The Boot's top talents.
“Coach Fritz has been scouting me since my days at Tulane,” Bradford told Rivals. “I trust this staff and the way they do things. Coach Fritz is a great coach who knows how to get the best out of his staff and his players.”
He ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash over the summer, showcasing his explosiveness and agility.
Now Brian Kelly and the Tigers have joined the action, offering the 6-foot, 195-pound player who is becoming a rising star in the recruiting race.
On Monday, On3 Sports scouting expert Billy Embody went on record predicting that the LSU Tigers would pluck Bradford out of Houston.
He and his brother, Blaine Bradford, starred for Louisiana Catholic and became breakout national prospects.
Blaine Bradford has developed into a top 10 prospect in the country for the 2026 cycle. He is rated as the No. 1 safety in the rising junior class and has a slew of Division 1 offers.
High on his list are Notre Dame, Louisiana State, Texas and Alabama, with the Tigers keen to acquire him.
Then last month, Jacob earned a scholarship and Louisiana State University is now offering both Bradfords, hoping the Bayou State star will stay home and attend college.
