– Everyone defends himself as he believes. Let's remember that everyone has the right to defend themselves. Representative Romanovski chose this formula – Przemysław Rosati, head of the Supreme Council of Advocates, said on TVN24 after Romanovski's defense lawyer announced the granting of international protection to the PiS representative by the Hungarian government. This information was confirmed by the head of Viktor Orban's office.
The Hungarian government accepted the request of MP Marcin Romanovski and granted him international protection under the Asylum Act, said lawyer Bartosz Lewandowski, PiS's parliamentary bodyguard and former deputy minister of justice. On Thursday, the Warsaw District Court agreed to issue a European arrest warrant for the deputy minister.
Since last Thursday, Romanovsky was wanted with an arrest warrant in connection with the previous review of the prosecutor's request for the temporary arrest of a member of the PiS parliament. The Prosecutor's Office announced 11 charges against the former Deputy Minister of Justice in the case of the Fund of Justice.

On TVN24, in the “Tak Jest” program, Przemysław Rosati, the chairman of the Supreme Council of Advocates, explained the entry of Romanovsky's defense attorney. – Perhaps this is a form that causes surprise or concern to some of the public opinion, but Mr. Romanovsky chose this form of defense and he cannot be blamed for this, – he said.
Rosati was asked about speculation about his whereabouts and possible movement within the EU to Hungary, the NRA president replied that the Hungarian government's decision “opens the international protection mechanism”. – This is an independent decision of the Hungarian government or perhaps Prime Minister Orbán's own decision – And what is important in this matter: everyone defends themselves, as they believe – he added.
Rosati on further proceedings against Romanovsky
Rosati noted that international protection does not necessarily exempt Romanowski from liability in Polish courts. – It is not always the case that the participation of the suspect is necessary during the trial. Such cases are still ongoing, provided that there is no need to conduct procedural activities with the participation of the suspect, and without these activities, the case cannot continue, he said.
The president of the NRA suggested that the Hungarian government can only act on a strictly diplomatic basis regarding the handing over of Romanovsky by the Hungarian government. – From Mr. Romanovsky's point of view, the security action, that is, the application that either Mr. Romanovsky or his lawyer submitted to the court for the security action, can work, – he added.
Safe Conduct is a trial facility that allows the accused to participate in trial activities with a so-called “free leg” while in Poland. At the same time, this is a guarantee that he will remain free until the final conclusion of the trial.
