Meghan Markle was reportedly left in tears after her new lifestyle brand was mercilessly mocked by the public. The Duchess of Sussex soft-launched her new jammies, American Riviera Orchard, in March.
The 43-year-old is said to be on a furious PR spree to promote the brand, which is the focus of her new Netflix series, and earlier this year she teased the series' release by posting a cryptic video on social media that showed her and Prince Harry walking around the grounds of her California mansion.
With Meghan and Harry's poor public reputation, Meghan was hoping to boost her own reputation in the public eye, but it backfired as the jam failed to resonate with people.
Royal author Tom Quinn claims Meghan was left in tears by the response, telling the Mirror: “The only real sticking point is Meghan's new internet brand, American Riviera Orchard. It left her in tears when it launched and her new jam was widely mocked as expensive and unexclusive.”

“She's now gotten to the point where she believes everything she does is unfairly criticized. Like her husband, she feels that people are unfairly attacking her. She doesn't understand why people don't praise her for her work.”
He added: “She is particularly sensitive to any criticism of her lavish lifestyle in the US, which in her view is something to be celebrated, not criticised.”

“American Riviera Orchard” may premiere later this year, but the Netflix series doesn't yet have a release date. The series will “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship.” She is said to have wrapped filming and is rumored to feature some of the biggest names in the culinary world.
Prince Harry and Meghan now live in an upscale neighborhood in Montecito, California, with their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibeth, 3. They ended their royal lives in 2020.
