Local teams are seeking a coveted defensive back in the 2025 freshman class.
Florida State's Michael Langston has recorded expert projections that Miami will land four-star safety Bryce Fitzgerald, and the On3 Recruiting Projection Machine (RPM) currently has the Hurricanes leading the way with a 92.5% chance of landing Fitzgerald, who is expected to announce his commitment later tonight.
According to the On3 industry rankings, a weighted average utilizing all four major recruiting media companies, Fitzgerald is the nation's No. 122 prospect, No. 14 safety and No. 21 player out of Florida in the 2025 cycle.
He is the No. 101 recruit nationally and the No. 8 safety in the 2025 On300.
“The alumni, the coaching staff, (Miami) coach (Chavis) Jackson,” Fitzgerald told On3 last month, “they just believe in me and believe I can play any position on the field.”

Fitzgerald took an official visit to Miami in June.
“Every time I go to Miami, Columbus comes up,” Fitzgerald told On3 after the Overtime finals, when he was greeted by former teammate Daylen Russell. “The first day I got here, everybody was talking about Columbus. Hopefully I can bring that experience back to Miami.”
