Two Russian drones launched toward Odessa violated Moldova's airspace and landed on Moldova's territory. President Maia Sandu commented on the matter, announcing the country's intention to acquire military equipment that would allow it to intercept unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to the Moldopress website, Russian machinery fell on Moldovan territory on November 10. The drone was used by the Russian military during a major attack on Odessa, but changed its flight route for unknown reasons.
Experts who examined the machine said the UAV was not loaded with explosives and was intended to act as a “decoy” for the Ukrainian air defense force.

Following this incident, the Chisinau authorities decided to urgently convene a meeting of the Supreme Security Council, which was attended by the following people: President Maia Sandu. After the meeting, the politician said drones “posed no threat to the public” but said airlines would aim to acquire technology that would help keep airspace safe.

– Since the beginning of the war, we have done everything in our power to protect our airspace. The purpose of the purchase is, among other things: Threat detection and prevention. According to reports, these drones are not dangerous, but we need to show vigilance and provide the country with the necessary technology to ensure the safety of its citizens, Sandu said.
According to information provided by representatives of the Moldovan Police Force, the drones fell in the Keushan and Lishkan regions. One of them is the Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicle.
