More than 20 spicy products, including dips, curry powders and seasonings, have been recalled over concerns they contain peanuts not listed on the label.
In a notice published by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the decision to withdraw the products – supplied by FGS Ingredients Ltd in Leicester – was described as a “precaution”.
Recalled products include Domino's BBQ dip, seasonings and curry powders from Favorite and Dunnes stores, and sausages and burgers from Westmorland Family Butchery.
This comes weeks after a separate recall regarding possible peanut contamination by FGS Ingredients, where the company said testing was underway to understand “where and how this issue arose.”
Mustard products containing traces of peanut can be found in foods such as dips, sauces, salads and prepackaged sandwiches.
Last month, FGS Ingredients said additional testing of its ingredients had “detected no presence of peanut content or residue” but advised customers to remove products containing mustard ingredients from sale.
A spokesperson previously said: “We have never been involved in any food contamination incident. Nonetheless, we continue to support the FSA's investigation in any way necessary to help determine the source of this problem. »
The latest FSA notice said consumers were asked to return the products for a full refund.
The FSA added: “These products are sold under several different brands in several different retail stores.
“Point-of-sale notices will be posted where the products were sold. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have purchased the products.”
