Community Support…
NVV is committed to making a difference in the lives of Napa County youth
“Collective Napa Valley's many supporters allow us to invest deeply in the well-being of Napa County's youth. The power of this program lies in the multiplier effect; we are grateful to receive donations from individuals and be able to amplify the impact of their dollars within our community,” said Donna Walker, chair of Napa Valley Vintners' grant review committee and owner of Pulido Walker Estate Vineyard & Winery. St. Helena, Calif. — Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) has announced an additional $2.5 million investment focused on the mental health of school-age children. Collective Napa Valley is the NVV's philanthropic program that raises funds for important initiatives that positively impact the Napa Valley community. NVV is committed to making a difference in the lives of Napa County youth through a multi-year youth mental health initiative.
“Collective Napa Valley's many supporters allow us to invest deeply in the well-being of Napa County's youth. The power of this program lies in the multiplier effect. We are grateful to receive private donations and be able to amplify the impact of those dollars within our community,” said Donna Walker, chair of Napa Valley Vintners' grant review committee and owner of Pulido Walker Estate Vineyard & Winery.
The NVV worked with a third-party to conduct a community needs assessment to identify areas where NVV funding could make the most difference. The report highlighted the same youth mental health crisis at the local level that is occurring nationwide. Based on the findings, the NVV embarked on a multi-year effort to develop sustainable solutions to this crisis in Napa County.
NVV's Youth Mental Health Initiative is designed to reach students in schools, communities and homes. By removing barriers and stigmas around mental health, building capacity and elevating youth voices, NVV and its partners can make a big impact. The initiative's goals are to ensure every child in Napa County has access to affordable, quality mental health services, provide parents and community members with the education and tools to identify when outside help is needed, develop health hubs on school campuses and increase collaboration between schools, local governments and nonprofits.
Earlier this year, NVV donated $1 million toward the construction of the Mentis Campus, which will expand youth mental health prevention and treatment services in Napa. Beginning in 2022, NVV is donating $5 million to youth mental health initiatives. For more than 40 years, NVV has invested more than $230 million in community health and child well-being throughout Napa Valley, from American Canyon to Calistoga. This latest donation demonstrates NVV's commitment to addressing large-scale community challenges.
$1 Million – SHINE Napa Valley is a collaborative that empowers youth mental health providers to have a collective impact in Napa Valley. Following a previous grant, an additional $1 million has been committed to support the collaborative's work through 2026. The funding will enable two new wellness centers to open over the next few years and strengthen service delivery capacity at each location. Funds will also be used for campaigns to reduce stigma and encourage youth to access mental health therapy. SHINE will use a portion of the funding to write grants to apply for additional funding.
$300,000 – Through this grant, Aldea will provide bilingual mental health treatment services and drug and alcohol support services. Programs focus on treatment to improve the emotional and academic functioning of students with mental health issues, treatment for substance use/abuse, education, family support and aftercare services.
$300,000 – Mentis provides bilingual, affordable mental health services. Prevention programs encourage mental health discussions among youth, promote community resources, foster healthy relationships, teach coping skills, and provide suicide prevention training. Funds will additionally be used for individualized treatment programs, including therapy in English and Spanish.

Staff will be present in five School Wellness Centers to serve as hubs to provide reception services, provide coping skills and self-care tools, and direct students and families to resources. Provide a range of supports for LGBTQ, Latinx and foster youth with services specific to these populations.
$300,000 – Napa Valley Education Foundation provides programs designed to improve student achievement, foster teacher innovation, and build community engagement. Helps schools conduct behavioral health screenings to identify broader trends among students and youth who need help.
