Police in Vlissingen, in the southwestern Netherlands, stopped a car for inspection that was “perfectly in keeping with the mood of the month”.
The problem is that car drivers felt the magic of the upcoming holiday so strongly that they decorated their cars with dozens of colorful lights. But that's not the end. A Christmas tree was placed on the roof of the car.

As explained, the lights mounted on the car's body could have blinded other drivers. “This is not allowed because if everyone uses too much lighting, there is a risk of blinding and, in this case, distraction,” the group said.
Cops said the driver likely took inspiration from TikTok, where this type of car decoration has become a pre-Christmas trend. He also boasted about the changes he has made to the platform.
The driver did not receive a ticket
It is against the law to drive a vehicle with more lights or reflective devices than permitted, but the driver of this specialized vehicle was not fined.

Internet users defended the driver. The police entry received many comments pointing out that the drivers of the cars were creating a festive atmosphere in the city. Some people argue that LED lights on some cars and trucks are much more dazzling.
