Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment's upcoming “Jurassic World” film received an official title on Thursday morning, along with two first looks at the film.
The film is titled “Jurassic World: Rebirth” and is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Check out some notable photos from the film above and below.
Starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali, Jurassic World 3 follows an intrepid team as they race across land, sea and air to secure DNA samples from three giant creatures. Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet's ecosystem has proven nearly inhospitable to dinosaurs. The surviving dinosaurs live in an isolated equatorial environment similar to the climate in which they once thrived. Inhabiting that tropical biosphere, three giant creatures hold the key to a miracle cure that could save humanity's lives.
Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a seasoned covert operations specialist who is contracted to lead a team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from three of the world's largest dinosaur species. When Zora's mission overlaps with a civilian family whose boat expedition is capsized by a predatory aquatic dinosaur, they are all stranded on an island and faced with a sinister and shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.
Bailey plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, while Ali plays Zola's most trusted team leader, Duncan Kincaid. Other cast members include Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, head of a major pharmaceutical company, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Ruben Delgado, the father of a family of shipwrecked civilians.
Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) will direct from a script by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, based on characters created by Michael Crichton. Other cast members include Luna Blaze, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Vergy, Bachir Sylvain and Ed Skrein.
The film is produced by two series veterans, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, with Steven Spielberg, Dennis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer serving as executive producers.
Jurassic World: Rebirth will be the fourth film in the Jurassic World series, following a trilogy of films that have each grossed over $1 billion worldwide. The latest film, Jurassic World: Dominion, is set to be released in June 2022.
