Tanner McKee
Passing yards under 97.5
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles starters will again be rested, with Kenny Pickett expected to play most of the first half.
This projection would be reasonable if Mackey plays the full second half, but I think it's a bit high after his struggles last week. Will Grier could come in and close out the game.
I predict McKee will get closer to 80.5.
Pick: Tanner McKee under 97.5 passing yards
Bailey Zappe
Under 60.5 passing yards
The Patriots had a poor quarterback rotation last week, with Zappe playing third, so I'd like to see Drake Maye get more minutes tonight and Joe Milton III play longer.
I expect Zappe to play a quarter to a quarter and a half tonight, but his minimum is too low to prop up that high.
I predict Zappe will be closer to 45.5.
Pick: Bailey Zappe, under 60.5 passing yards
Lew Nichols
20.5+ yards rushing + receiving
Will Shipley, Kendall Milton, Tyrone Davis-Price and Nichols will handle the bulk of the work in the Eagles' backfield tonight.
Nichols played 19 snaps last week, getting seven carries and leading the backfield with nine route running attempts.
If Nichols gets similar playing time and usage rate tonight, which I think is reasonable, I would project his rushing and receiving yards to be closer to 27.5.
Pick: Lou Nichols – 20.5+ yards rushing + receiving
Terrell Jennings
Rush over 19.5 yards
Jennings was the Patriots' most productive running back last week with 38 yards on six carries. I think he's the type of running back the Patriots would like to see work on a bit more. New England already has a ton of film on JaMychal Hasty and Kevin Harris, so it would make sense to give Jennings, an undrafted rookie, more time to work on the game.
I project him to have closer to 23.5 rushing yards, but I think he has a lot of potential.
Pick: Terrell Jennings over 19.5 yards
Britten Covey
Under 23.5 receiving yards
Covey ran 22 routes last week and got a lot of playing time. He caught all four passes for 25 yards. Covey primarily played out of the slot and had an average depth of target of 1.5 yards.
That means even if Covey makes three or four catches tonight, he could still fall below that number.
The Patriots' second defensive unit played well last week and was ranked No. 1 in Pro Football Focus' Week 1 preseason coverage rating, making that number even tougher for Covey to beat.
I project Covey to finish closer to 19.5 receiving yards, and while he has a very high potential, I think he'll ultimately fall just short of that.
Pick: Britten Covey under 23.5 receiving yards
Tanner McKee
Passing yards under 91.5
McKee is also available on PrizePicks, but at a much lower number than Underdog, and if I were to project his passing yardage total tonight, I'd say around 87.5 would be the cutoff number.
Pick: Tanner McKee under 91.5 passing yards
