It's time to reload, Gag City. Nicki Minaj is getting ready to paint the world pink once again as she gets ready to hit the road in September for the second North American leg of her Pink Friday 2 world tour.
Nicki took to social media on Friday (August 16) to let the Barbz know that while the standard of awesome will remain the same for her second tour, she has plenty of surprises in store, including a change of set, different costume choices, and even some new songs to perform.
Minaj also enlisted opening acts for the tour including her Young Money brother Tyga, as well as her “Whole Lotta Money” collaborators BIA and Skillibeng.
“Anyway, let me just say you don't want to miss it,” she began, “You all know I'm an honest to goodness Pink Lady. #GagCityReloaded is going to be beautiful, a magical dream come true, and better than the first half. It couldn't have been easier.”
Nicki continued, “New looks, setlist changes, other secrets, hmm, new music? Let me think. Thanks for doing it again team, they're the best. Thank you in advance to all the guest artists who will be performing in your respective cities. And to these 3 talents (who I love and respect so much) who brought G6 to #GAGCITY just for Barbs and I. @tyga@bia@skillibeng. Thank you!!!!!!!!”
The Pink Friday 2 World Tour has already made history, making Minaj the highest grossing female rap tour of all time, and ranking in the top 10 highest grossing rap tours of all time. According to figures reported by Billboard BoxScore, the Pink Friday 2 World Tour grossed $67 million and sold 439,000 tickets during its first North American leg.
Minaj concluded, “Barbs, we're already making history before leg 2 with a top 10 hip hop tour of all time. To everyone who came out to support us at leg 1, God bless you. I love you. Seriously. Come again. Love you always. Harajuku Barbie.”
The Pink Friday 2 World Tour will kick off the second leg of its run in Philadelphia on September 4. It will also stop at New York's Madison Square Garden, Cleveland, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Kansas City, Jacksonville and Miami before wrapping up its hometown show at UBS Arena on Long Island, next to Queens, on October 11.
