North Korea is building the largest warship in history – CNN says it cites the latest satellite photos. Built at the Nampo shipyard (60 km from the country’s capital), the ship is a rocket frigate with an estimated length of 140 meters.
The latest satellite photos mentioned by American CNN show that buildings built by North Korea could be twice the size of the current ship.
Photos provided by Maxar Technologies show that the ship’s construction will take place at Nampo Shipyard 60km southwest of Pyongyang.

The length of the rocket frigate is approximately 140 meters. CNN shows that the Arleigh Burke Rocket Destroyers, which belong to the US Navy, are approximately 155 m long.
The new North Korean ship is the largest in history
According to the former captain of the US Navy Karlschuster, he probably needs to take more than a year before the new North Korean War ship can begin inspecting the seas. Analysts also said the ship may be ready to install radars with attractive antennas that allow them to track threats and targets faster than current tools.

American Military Intelligence (DIE) announced in 2021 that Navy North Korea has around 400 patrol ships and 70 submarines. As I highlighted, it’s a large number of units, but most of them are old and small.
The report emphasized that in the event of a dispute with South Korea or the US, the North Korean Navy will primarily deal with coastal defense.
