The tanker and the cargo ship collided in the North Sea. The impact was very serious, and the first ship began to burn. Rescue operations are currently underway — the BBC says.
From Coast Guard communications, the ship collided off the coast of East Yorkshire, England. The first alarm of the event reached service before 10am.
Among other things, Coast Guard helicopters or lifeguards from nearby towns were asked to do rescue operations.
According to service status, they are currently coordinating actions regarding tanker collisions with cargo ships. It was emphasized that “action continues.”
