Well, that's interesting.
A new survey finds that one in four Americans feel bored in life.
A survey of 2,000 US residents by Talker Research found that more than a quarter (27%) of respondents feel stuck in a mundane routine and their lives are “a bit boring.”
According to a survey commissioned by Storyteller Overland for American Adventure Month in August, the average respondent dreams of going on some kind of adventure four times every day, but only 10% feel like they can go on an adventure on any given day.

Additionally, many Americans surveyed said they go beyond simple boredom to suffer from serious daily mental strain, including anxiety (38%), fatigue (35%) and frustration (30%).
More than 60% said they “desperately need” to go on an adventure or travel this year.
“The data shows that Americans are craving a break from everyday life,” Summer Trammell, chief engagement officer at Storyteller Overland, said in a statement.
Nearly half of respondents believe adventure is about escaping everyday life, and 30% say it is an experience that makes them appreciate life more.
The top three reasons Americans seek new adventures are a desire for warmer weather, boredom from seeing the same mundane surroundings every day, and jealousy: Seeing family and friends traveling makes them want to go, said 33%.

The online survey, conducted from July 1st to 8th, also found that 36% of respondents said their sense of adventure has become more pronounced as they have gotten older, with 42 being the perfect age to head out on an adventure.
Yet the vast majority of respondents (83%) said adventure awaits at any age.
They said the majority of Americans, across generations including Baby Boomers, Gen X and Millennials, take four to five trips a year.

And they are willing to travel far and wide for the thrill.
On average, respondents said they would be willing to travel more than 2,7000 miles to briefly escape their daily routine.
Most Americans feel a six-day trip is the ideal amount of time for an adventure, with Hawaii named as their top destination by 18%, followed by California (16%), Florida (14%), Alaska (13%) and Colorado (11%).
New York came in sixth with 10%.
