PENSACOLA, Fla. — Pensacola International Airport has installed advanced license plate recognition (LPR) technology.
“This new system, delivered by industry leaders TIBA Parking and Gorey Regan, will make parking at the airport easier and more efficient than ever before,” the airport said in a statement.
Pensacola International Airport replaced its old ticketing kiosks and in-lane payment devices with state-of-the-art LPR equipment. The new system aims to streamline the parking experience by automatically recognizing license plates at entry and exit points.
“We are pleased to offer these enhancements to our customers,” said Laura Amentler, director of finance at Pensacola International Airport. “The seamless LPR system combined with our new equipment not only improves ease of use, but also significantly reduces operational costs.”
The airport says speed is one of the main benefits of the new system.
According to the airport, the process takes an average of three to five seconds.
“The TIBA solution with LPR capability has proven highly effective at other airports,” said Charlie Hill, sales manager at Gorey Regan. “High reliability and reduced maintenance needs translate into a better experience for both users and operators. We are pleased to continue our partnership with Pensacola International Airport.”
