Pilot told CSP that Grant Leathers has become the company's new vice president of energy technologies.
Leathers, who assumed the role in July, comes to Knoxville, Tennessee-based Pilot from Orange, Calif.-based SC Fuels, where he had served as chief information officer since January 2019.
Pilot acquired SC Fuels in 2021.
“I have the honor of leading Pilot Company's Energy Technology organization,” Leathers wrote on his LinkedIn page. “Our team delivers technology platforms and solutions that support our Transportation & Logistics, Supply, Wholesale, Midstream, Commercial Trading, Cardlock, Short Truck and Lubricants business lines. Combined, these businesses deliver more than 14 billion gallons annually to Pilot Travel Centers and Pilot Energy customers. We keep America moving!”
Pilot is ranked 15th on CSP's 2024 ranking of the top 202 U.S. convenience store chains by store count.
Prior to joining SC Fuels, Leathers served as vice president of technical operations at El Segundo, Calif.-based wellness and fitness services company Beachbody for approximately three years.
Leathers also served as senior director of strategic projects at Experian Consumer Services in Costa Mesa, California, from 2013 to 2015. Previously, he was senior director of enterprise infrastructure at Kelley Blue Book, based in Irvine, California, from 2007 to 2012.
Prior to Leathers' hiring, Pilot promoted Andy Lupo to chief technology officer in May, named Gary Hoogeveen as the new president of Pilot Energy in April and hired Shannon Sturgill as senior vice president of alternative fuels in January.
