On Thursday, a meeting of the Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee was held in the Seimas, where the situation of the Polish Olympic Committee was discussed. For a long time, disagreements about it, including the finances of this organization. The prosecutor’s office received a notification about the possibility of committing the so-called value added tax crime by the head of the Polish Olympic Committee, Radoslaw Pieszewicz. Doubts are also raised, among other things, about the correctness of the decision on the salary of the members of the board of the PCC, which is headed by President Piešević, who, unlike his predecessors, does not fulfill this task from a social point of view. The media revealed that the president earned up to PLN 100,000 a month at his peak.

Leszek Blanik, Olympic champion, president of the Polish Gymnastics Association, member of the presidium of the Polish Olympic Committee, commented on this in the newspaper “Fakti po factach”. – In my opinion, all the events that are happening after the Olympic Games, these issues related to the finances of POK raise many doubts, – he said. He explained that “he is one of the members of the board and presidium who observe this and have serious comments about the activity of the (Committee – ed.)”.

To the question why Radoslaw Pieszewicz is the first president who receives such a salary, Blahnik answered: “Unfortunately, we, as the presidium of the Polish Olympic Committee, had some problems and did not receive detailed information about the president’s salary.”
He also referred to the report of the Investigative Committee of the Polish Olympic Committee, which was prepared on December 4 last year based on the board’s decision of August 20, 2024. He admitted that “we haven’t had that report yet.” “Unfortunately, we will learn about many things after the event,” he said.

The host of the program Piotr Marciniak recalled that Pieszewicz reacted to the alleged allegations with a statement that he wrote that they were false and that the manner of action of the Minister of Sports Slawomir Nitras “corresponds to the darkest years of authoritarianism.”
