Polish police officer killed in Africa. he wanted to climb Kilimanjaro
Mariusz Wojek, an aspiring police officer from Joori, died while climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. “Climbing Africa’s highest peak was the realization of his big dream and should have been one of his life goals,” police said.

The police officer died on January 6, 2025, while climbing Africa’s highest mountain. Conquering the mountain peak in northern Tanzania was supposed to be the realization of his big dream.
Problems in transporting the body of a police officer to Poland
The deceased officer had been with the police force for more than 25 years. In the past, he served as the commander of an emergency response group, often risking his life on particularly dangerous missions. He participated in a mission in Kosovo and routinely worked as an instructor in police tactics and techniques, passing on his experiences to younger colleagues.

“He was very smiling, kind and full of zest for life, which was contagious to those around him. He came to work with dedication every day and was always ready to help anyone in need. “He loved life and his great passion was sports. He loved martial arts and traveling,” they remembered their late police colleague.
Police also appealed for support for an online recall started by the families of the deceased officers. The police officer’s family needs money to transport his body from Tanzania to Poland because of problems receiving insurance payments.
