Pomeranian police spokesperson Karina Kaminska confirmed this on Wednesday in an interview with polsatnews.pl: On the 17th, police in Chojnice received a call about an aggressive man who had beaten his father and destroyed his home.
During the intervention, the 37-year-old man injured the hand of one of the officers. The second officer used his service weapon and fired at the gunman. “Of course, after successfully deploying their weapon, officers immediately began resuscitating the man,” the spokesperson said.
Despite resuscitation efforts and the arrival of an ambulance, the man's life could not be saved. RMF FM radio was the first to report on this tragic intervention.

How did the tragedy occur? Officers spoke with the man's father, who reported that his son had barricaded himself in the apartment and was threatening to take his own life.
– Police determined that the man may have committed suicide. Kaminska stressed that the decision to force entry into the apartment was made because the man's life and health were in danger.
