A “healthy lifestyle event” will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, at University Park Village Hall (90 Town Center Dr.) and will offer produce, health care services and community resources.
Will County Mayor Jennifer Bertino Tarrant is hosting the event in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, the Village of University Park, the Will County Health Department and Community Health Centers and the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services.
“These events are designed to promote the health of our residents, both through direct services and through connections to local resources that provide support throughout the year,” said Bertino Tarrant. “This is our second year hosting this event in University Park and we are grateful to all of our partners who work with us to provide health care services to our community.”
The event will provide free health care services, wellness screenings, childhood vaccinations (up to 15 months of age) and care coordination. Participants will also receive free fruits and vegetables while supplies last. Various state and local agencies will be in attendance to share information about local resources and services.
