Sid Eudy, aka Sid Justice, Sid Vicious and Psycho Sid, has died at the age of 63. His son Gunnar Eudy confirmed his death in a Facebook post on August 26. “It is with deep sadness that I must announce that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after several years of fighting cancer. He was a man of strength, kindness and love. He will be greatly missed,” Gunnar wrote. Sid began his wrestling career in 1987 as Lord Humungus and later joined World Championship Wrestling. During his time with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), he adopted his most famous stage name, Sid Vicious, inspired by the Sex Pistols bassist. When Sid joined the World Wrestling Federation (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)), his infamous feud with Hulk Hogan began.
He became a big star throughout his wrestling career, even though he was often a supporting character in the ring due to his large size. Records indicate that he was 6 feet 9 inches tall and weighed 317 pounds. Sid was a main act at WrestleMania twice and was named one of the 30 best big men in wrestling by WWE. In 2001, he injured his leg in the ring and required a long recovery, but he eventually returned to the ring and retired in 2017.
