Dog breeding farms, often pseudo-breeding, are not sufficiently regulated. Even if they are registered, no one will check them – unless it becomes clear that such a farm is a deadly object or even a cemetery. By then it is often too late. Animal defenders appeal to the Seimas to change it.
He can’t eat it yet, because it might hurt him, but after two hours it will be a different piece. When Byron came to Tusi, Marcela, and Mrs. Marzena, he was the shadow of a bullmastiff. He weighed 28 kilograms, which is about 40 kilograms less than the order.
– He probably didn’t come out of the pen for several months, that’s why he was lying motionless, lying on the hard floor, lying in feces, I think that these injuries were mainly caused by pressure sores, mainly negligence, veterinary negligence, especially everything – says Marzena Maciašek , Byron’s new guardian.
Nine dogs taken from fake kennels near Bialystok were in this condition.
Production” of dogs and big money
Dogs were no longer needed when they could no longer be gene donors, incubators or ATMs. They were sentenced to starvation in the cellar. In solitude.
– The breeder did not want to return these dogs. He claimed that if we take away the dogs, he will kill himself and cannot imagine life without them. Imagine the emotional state of such a person, says Joanna Sroka of the Cane Corso Rescue Poland Foundation.
Such people are tempted to breed pets for a lot of money, which can be obtained pathologically at a low cost. On a micro scale, for example, in Szczecin, by “producing” cocker spaniels in an apartment. Or on a wholesale scale, for example, in Kashubia, just opening a factory of puppies of different breeds in the field.

– In dramatic conditions, without food, without water, dozens of them are locked in a narrow box with access to a kennel. They were drowning in excrement, reports Barbara Duleba, coordinator of the Pomeranian Animal Protection Inspectorate and member of the Polish Animal Society OTOZ “Hayvonlar”.
No one controls the pseudo-selector
In order to start a breeding farm, theoretically you need to register with the association. Exactly in some, because no one checks what these associations are doing.
Theoretically, each farm should be managed by a regional veterinarian. Well, if he had been in charge, Byron wouldn’t be in the position he was in. No one checks how many dogs die in pseudo-kennels and for what reasons.
– Unfortunately, there are cemeteries there. The cemeteries of those animals that could not reach in time – says Joanna Sroka.
Bialystok. The police entered the dog breeding area. They immediately discovered that the animals were kept in extremely poor conditions
A systemic solution is needed.
– We need to have a document that will introduce the principles of keeping dogs, cats and pets, or possibly add provisions to the Animal Protection Act in this area, because they simply do not exist – says Agnieszka Lip-Chmiełewska.
The new regulation, if adopted by the Seimas, will be immediately included in the chain law, which requires the registration of breeders and breeding farms, and also establishes specific requirements.
– As for the breeding place of these animals, the space in which they are bred, as well as determining how often a female dog or cat can give birth to new cubs, – says Katarzyna Piekarska from the parliamentary group for the protection of animal rights, MP from Civil union.
The proposed rules would also determine the care of dogs that are retired from the farm, like Byron.
