About the US News and World Report rankings
Designed for prospective students looking to further their education after college, the Best Graduate School rankings evaluate programs in a variety of fields, including business, education, engineering, law and nursing.
The rankings of the best graduate schools in these fields are based on two types of data: expert opinion about the excellence of the programs and statistical indicators measuring the quality of a school's faculty, research and students.
Data for the rankings in the six major fields came from a statistical survey of 2,225 programs and a reputation survey sent to approximately 5,766 academics and 10,941 professionals conducted between fall 2023 and early 2024.
Rankings for Best Medical Schools, Best Engineering Schools and Best Clinical Psychology Programs for 2024-2025 will be released at a later date.
