On “The Claman Countdown,” Will.i.am explains how his app, FYI, helps creators bring their ideas to life.
While many musicians and celebrities have spoken out against AI, rapper will.i.am has gotten into the technology, unveiling a new artificial intelligence app called Raidio.FYI.
FYI is a free artificial intelligence-powered platform that simulates a radio experience, allowing users to interact with radio personas and curate content tailored to their interests.

“We've simulated a radio station format with an AI co-host, and you can have in-depth conversations about any subject that interests you, whether that be real-time information or historical information,” the rapper said on “The Craman Countdown” on Tuesday.
“We're simulating a radio experience, talking over music, playing human-curated playlists,” he added, “and then we're building these stations based on the projects.”
According to the app's website, the Black Eyed Peas members founded the free app as “creative co-pilots.” FYI allows users to bring their ideas to life without needing to rely on others to work on a project or analyze a plan.

“I have a persona that I never get tired of, and it helps me fine-tune the ideas that I have. I don't need a persona to come up with ideas,” the rapper explained.

“If you're feeling nervous or unsure about your idea, you can talk to one of our AI personas and tweak your marketing plan, your strategy, or the song or book you're publishing, and have a real conversation. It gives you a way to vent your frustrations, it gives you a reason to vent your frustrations, and it helps you shape and execute your idea and develop your strategy.”
Additionally, the platform allows users to send messages, create project folders, call up content, etc. FYI also uses advanced end-to-end encryption, similar to the methods used to secure cryptocurrency transactions.

“It's a very well thought out system,” he said, “with partners, RSS feeds, and in-house journalists making sure everything we publish is factual. Sometimes we get it wrong, but that's why we're pushing everyone to push AI.”
“We encourage people to be skeptical of AI,” he continued. “Let it gather more information. Treat it as trustworthy, but you have to take some precautions when you work with it. In the digital world, you can't take everything as fact.”
The rapper tested the software with host Liz Claman, who said the software is “for anyone,” from “aspiring C-level executives” and people working in the business world to artists and songwriters.
