The automatic distributors of the former SHED FARM Shop tractor sell local products until 9:00 p.m. per day
A Kent Farm store turned to technology to sell local products outside the hours.
The old tractor farm store in Brookland has installed three automatic distributors which continue to offer a range of products when the main company is closed.
Visitors can pay milk, pickles, meats, fruit juices and fresh vegetables from suppliers on the Romney marsh by pressing their bank cards and smartphones.
The co -owner Deborah Ovenden said: “This allows us to extend our hours to offer local products to a wide range of people such as dog walkers and cyclists early in the morning when the shop is not open.
“There are not many shops in the region, so it is also useful for evening people to come home.”
Automatic distributors are housed in shipping containers in front of the building of the farm shop. The owners also plan to open a self-service coffee in one of them.
The container of the Automatic Fresh Milk Distributor was previously used to house Turkish PPE equipment of the pandemic which was finally rejected, said co -owner Clive Ovenden.
The director of the farm shop, Ryan Ovenden and his father Clive, plan to transform a shipping container into a service coffee
The initiative intervenes because many farms are looking for other ways to diversify their income.
“Farmers are struggling for the moment,” added Ms. Ovenden.
“This is an opportunity to sell our products and it in the region even when we are not there ourselves.”
The automatic distributors of the old tractor farm shop are open every day between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
