The reopening of the grain agreement in the Black Sea will be a major topic of conversation between Ukraine and Russia at a scheduled meeting in Saudi Arabia on Monday – the Kremlin cited by the AFP agency.
The Black Sea Cereal Agreement came into effect from 2022 to 2023. They were negotiated in July 2022 by Türkiye and the United Nations. For several months, it was constantly extended, allowing exports of 33 million tonnes of grain from Ukraine through the Black Sea. Before the war, the country was one of the most important exporters of this product. This contract protected ships equipped with serials.

Russia withdrew from its contract a year later, complaining that it had encountered a serious obstacle to exporting food and fertilizer. -We met all the conditions, but our conditions were not – a Kremlin spokesman said after the end of the contract.

However, returning to agreement can be difficult. Or at least this is what the Russians expect. The AFP agency said the Kremlin “underestimated” expectations for a rapid resolution of the Ukraine conflict, and consultations are only beginning and parties to the conflict are waiting for “difficult negotiations.”
