Russia and Belarus are conducting training ahead of exercise Zapad-2025. The Belarusian Defense Ministry said the “decision-making process” on the use of regional military groups was being checked.
Headquarters exercises of the Belarus-Russia Combined Regional Army Group (RZW) are underway in Belarus, the statement said. The goal is to improve the defense capabilities of the Allies, namely Belarus and Russia.

The subject of the exercise is the decision-making process regarding the use of RZW to guarantee federal national security. Belarusian and Russian military representatives were reported to be developing one of the variants using RZW between January 14 and 16.

The ministry stressed that the current exercise is part of the preparations for the Zapad-2025 joint exercise to be held in Belarus this year.
