It's time to return to Jurassic World.
On August 29th, Universal Pictures released the first look at the upcoming film Jurassic World 3D, starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey.
The studio revealed the film's logo and a snippet of the theme song in a post shared on X, along with some photos from the film: One photo shows Johansson and Bailey's characters crouching in tall grass, while another shows Ali's character screaming with a flare in his hand.
“A new era begins. #JurassicWorldRebirth,” the Instagram logline reads.
Per the official description, the film will be set five years after the events of 2022's Jurassic World Dominion, with “the planet's ecosystem proving nearly inhospitable to dinosaurs.”

“The surviving organisms live in an isolated equatorial environment similar to the climate in which they once thrived,” the summary reads. “The three largest organisms inhabiting this tropical biosphere may hold the key to potentially miraculous, life-saving medicines for humanity.”
According to a press release, Johansson will play “Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert who is contracted to lead a highly skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from three of the world's largest dinosaur species.”
“When Zola's operations overlap with a family of civilians whose boat is capsized during an expedition by a predatory aquatic dinosaur, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they are confronted with a sinister and shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.”
The film is directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and the screenplay is by Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.

Johansson previously said in an interview with ComicBook.com in June that she was a “huge fan” of the Jurassic Park films.
“I've been trying to get into this franchise for over 10 years, any way I can. I was like, 'I don't care if I die in the first five minutes! I don't care if I get eaten by anything! I'll do craft services!' I'd do anything for that,” she said at the time. “The fact that this happened at this time is just surreal. I can't believe it.”
Jurassic World: Rebirth will hit theaters in July 2025.
