“Basta, Serbia” protests have been taking place regularly in Belgrade for several weeks. Demonstrators blocked traffic for 15 minutes in honor of the 15 victims of the Novi Sad tragedy that occurred in early November.
During Friday's demonstration, a 67-year-old man drove a car into the crowd. Four musicians of the Belgrade Philharmonic were injured, and a siege was organized in front of it.

The man was charged with the offense of indecent behavior in a public meeting. “During a break from the dress rehearsal, some of the musicians, on a personal initiative, decided to pay tribute to the victims of the tragedy in Novi Sad. While the group was on the pedestrian crossing, they were struck,” Philharmonia wrote. in the statement. The injured were taken to the hospital. The Philharmonic has canceled the Friday evening concert.
Protests after the roof of the train station collapsed
Groups of citizens, activists, students and opposition representatives have been organizing protests for weeks every Friday – the day that part of the roof of the Novi Sad railway station collapsed. As reported by Reuters, the protesters accuse the government of contributing to this tragedy and say that it was a tragedy and nepotism in power circles, which in turn led to the building being mediated.
Novi Sad railway station was officially opened in July after a three-year renovation. The Chinese consortium CRIC&CCCC (China Railway International Co. Ltd and China Communications Construction Company Ltd) was responsible for the renovation. The prosecutor's office is investigating the reasons for the collapse of a part of the roof.
