Someone noticed that a 12-year-old swimmer was lying at the bottom of the pool. It may take up to several minutes. After being taken to the hospital, he was in a coma for a long time. When she woke up a few days later, one of the first questions she asked was, “When can I go swimming?”
There is a winner in this story, but the happy ending was unknown. – Something strange. When they called me, probably on January 2, and Milena said: “Good morning, coach,” I thought I was going to melt – says Robert Wieczorek, Milena Glaz’s coach from MKS Ikar Stal Mielec.
12-year-old Milena addressed the participants of the “Sportsman of the Year” gala from the hospital in Mielek. The coach received the “Talent of the Year” award on his behalf. – Thank you very much for supporting Milena in these last days, because you know very well where she is now, – said Robert Wieczorek from the stage.
Milena, as she says, misses the exercises. – We immediately received the first news that Milena wants to return to training, – says Kamila Bik from regional weekly korso.pl.

They found him at the bottom of the pool
Milena has been training for five years – in the butterfly style, she is one of the best in the country. On December 28, she went to the swimming pool for the second time on the same day.
– They found her underwater. According to our information, he could have stayed there for several minutes, said assistant commissioner Katarzyna Kosturek of the regional police office in Rzeszów. – I moved. How so? He swam like a fish, trained twice a day, says Grzegorz Lato, former player of Stal Mielek and the Polish national team.
The lifeguards at the swimming pool were the first to revive him. Milena has been breathing on her own for only a few days. – The incident that happened to this young athlete is completely unique and non-standard, and it is something that makes people happy, – says sports psychologist Milena Lacovich.

Exceeding one’s potential, or perhaps a hidden defect – this is explained by experts. – We are happy that the girl is in contact and is logical. This is definitely good, says neurologist Marta Zawadzka. – He woke up from a coma and is already asking about training, which is a really good sign – says Katarzyn Wasik, former Polish swimming representative.
What happened is an important lesson in swimming. – I told him that nothing is impossible, there are only things that we do badly. And when we go through the most difficult things, it always becomes easier, – says Otilia Jedrzejczak, former Polish swimming representative.
