The new Dublin facility will play a key role in the organisation’s digital transformation objectives and is expected to host jobs across a number of sectors, including software development, automotive tech and adtech.
American audio entertainment company SiriusXM today (August 29th) announced plans to establish a technology centre of excellence in Dublin, Ireland. The company plans to recruit for several positions, with Dublin-based employees set to play a key role in the company's digital transformation goals.
SiriusXM is an audio entertainment platform founded in 2008 by Martine Rothblat and David Margolese and headquartered in New York, US. The Dublin-based employees will primarily focus on software development, automotive technology and engineering, adtech, data science and analytics.
At this time, it's unclear how many positions are being offered, but SiriusXM has provided details about the new hires' responsibilities: The software hire will oversee the development and execution of innovative software and its features.
Professionals working in automotive technology and engineering will be responsible for developing, testing and supporting SiriusXM's software and platforms for in-car services, consumer electronics and emerging businesses. Finally, members of the ad tech, data science and analytics team will work to modernize and scale the company's advertising and consumer engagement.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke welcomed the announcement, saying he was pleased the company had chosen Dublin as the location for its new Technology Centre of Excellence and that it would be able to take advantage of Ireland's talented experts.
IDA Ireland CEO Michael Rohan echoed the statement, saying: “SiriusXM's decision to establish its new Technology Centre of Excellence in Dublin highlights Ireland's attractiveness as a global expansion destination. This investment is testament to Ireland's enterprise-driven economy and the professional, skilled workforce we have in Dublin and across the country.”
SiriusXM received support from the Irish government through IDA Ireland, which also recently announced support for Galway-based PennEngineering's €14 million expansion, which will create 70 new jobs over the next five years.
