LONDON (AP) — British golfer Georgia Hall will play in the Solheim Cup for the fifth consecutive year after being named one of four captaincy selections announced Monday for next month's match against the United States.
Hall, three-time major champion Anna Nordqvist of Sweden and Emily Christine Pedersen of Denmark return from the European team that defended the trophy after a 14-14 draw in Spain last year.
Switzerland's Albane Valenzuela was the only rookie selected by captain Suzann Pettersen on Monday.
Eight players have already automatically qualified for Europe – Sweden's Maja Stark, Lynn Grant and Madeleine Sagstrom, England's Charlie Hull, Ireland's Leona Maguire, France's Celine Boutier, Spain's Carlota Ciganda and Germany's Esther Henseleit.
The 2024 Solheim Cup will be held September 13-15 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
The U.S. hasn't won since 2017 but still leads the series 10-8.
U.S. captain Stacy Lewis is expected to announce the three players on Tuesday.
Those who have already qualified are Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu, Lauren Coughlin, Allie Ewing, Alisen Copes, Megan Kang, Andrea Lee, Rose Chan and Allison Lee.
