Sophie Hediger has passed away. The Swiss snowboarder was 26 years old. She participated in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. She passed away on Monday.
The tragedy happened on Monday at the Arosa resort in Switzerland. The local ski federation announced the 26-year-old's death the next day.

“Sophie Hediger, a member of the Swiss snowboarding team for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, died in an avalanche at a mountain resort,” the statement said.

During the Games, Hediger competed in a mixed team version of the same event as Women's Snowboard Cross.
In the 2023/24 season, he stood on the World Cup podium twice. Her best finish was second place in St. Louis. Moritz reminded The Associated Press in January.
“We are shocked and send our deepest sympathies to Sophie's family,” Swiss Ski CEO Walter Reuther said in a statement. He added that Ms Hediger had lost her life “tragic, brutal and far too soon”.
