Star Wars Outlaws' Early Access period has passed, and the countdown to the full release has begun.
As Kay Vess, you can live out your Han Solo-esque rogue fantasy in Ubisoft's open-world setting in a galaxy far, far away. Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, there's plenty of mayhem to come, with notorious factions changing how you view them depending on how you deal with them, and of course, you'll bump into Jabba the Hutt along the way.
We've played Ubisoft's latest title ourselves, and in our Star Wars Outlaws review we called it “a really fun Star Wars game that's hampered by a poor stealth system.”
“Star Wars Outlaws is a really fun Star Wars game, but it's held back by a weak stealth system and lackluster mission design,” we said. “Massive Entertainment establishes a believable sense of place through its open world, accurately recreating the atmosphere of the original trilogy of films, but the experience falls off the closer you get to the critical path. If you've ever dreamed of going rogue in a galaxy far, far away, there's a lot to like in Outlaws, and there's more crawling through cramped ventilation systems than you'd expect.”
You don't have much time to play the game yourself. Star Wars Outlaws is available to preload now, and the Early Access version is already out. If you bought or preordered the Gold or Ultimate Edition, you can play right away. 9 PM PDT (August 29) 12 AM EDT (August 30) 11 PM BST (August 29) 12 AM CEST (August 30)
Star Wars Outlaws release times for PC vary slightly depending on where you are in the world, but the console versions have a more uniform unlock schedule: once the clock strikes midnight and August 29 turns into August 30, you'll be good to go. If you're in doubt, check out the chart above.
