Reuters reported on Friday, citing a statement from U.S. Central Command, that “as a result of a targeted attack by the United States, two Islamic State fighters, including ISIS leader Abu Yusuf, were killed in Syria on Thursday. He was murdered.”
British news outlet Sky News also posted similar information on social media.

In early December alone, U.S. Central Command conducted more than 75 strikes in Syria.
American forces then targeted Islamic State strongholds in central Syria. The United States said the move was a response to the domestic turmoil following the flight of dictator Bashar al-Assad.
The politician has ruled this Middle Eastern country since 2000. Previously, his father ruled there in an authoritarian manner. The US military said the attack was part of its tactics to maintain regional stability.
Islamic State will be prepared to take advantage of the chaos and seize power from rebel groups. The U.S. operation involved B-52 bombers, F-15 fighters, and A-10 attack aircraft.
